Indie Zapadha's Songs of the Lonely Samurai / The Bushidō Sessions

<img src="http://indiezapadha.podOmatic.com/mymedia/thumb/1178347/0x0_1589659.jpg" alt="itunes pic" /><br />Indie Zapadha's Songs of the Lonely Samurai / The Bushidō Sessions is an episode of real sounds of emotional discipline from a life long path of devotional struggles of inner and outer disciplines. The pre-industrial Samurai lived his life out of pure devotion.

Indie Zapadha's Songs of the Lonely Samurai are dedicated to the pre industrial Japanese Samurais and to the seekers of today! For their devotion to cultivate inner strengths to be totally aware through discipline, and to cultivate a keen sense of meditation. Through a solitary path of spiritual exploration of the self.

These songs offer an imagery of life through an intense journey of devotion, seeking the unknown through frugality, loyalty, martial arts mastery, and honor until death...

The Bushidō Sessions celebrate the instrumental diversity of each artist who bring a distinct style and sound that is single pointed and straight to zen and the art of self! "who am I"... Like a Samurai our featured artists represent the creative forces of self discovery through music, art, life encounters....

Songs of the Lonely Samurai are rare tracks selected from the distinct discipline of the nature of a Lonely Samurai. The dance of the Lonely Samurai embraces the Loneliness of the Solitary nature of life itself. It's the way of the warrior, an honor until death.

Samurai (侍?) is the term for the military nobility of pre industrial Japan. According to translator William Scott Wilson: "In Chinese, the character was originally a verb meaning to wait upon or accompany a person in the upper ranks of society, and this is also true of the original term in Japanese, saburau. In both countries the terms were nominalized to mean "those who serve in close attendance to the nobility," the pronunciation in Japanese changing to saburai."

According to Wilson, an early reference to the word Samurai appears in the Kokinshu, the first imperial anthology of poems, completed in the first part of the tenth century. By the end of the 12th century, saburai became synonymous with bushi (武士) almost entirely and the word was closely associated with the middle and upper echelons of the warrior class. The samurai followed a set of unwritten rules called the Bushidō.

Bushidō (武士道?), meaning "Way of the Warrior", is a Japanese code of conduct and a way of the samurai life, loosely analogous to the concept of chivalry. It originates from the samurai moral code and stresses frugality, loyalty, martial arts mastery, and honor until death.

Born of two main influences, the violent existence of the samurai was tempered by the wisdom and serenity of Confucianism and Buddhism. Bushidō developed between the 9th to 12th centuries and numerous translated documents dating from the 12th to 16th centuries demonstrate its wide influence across the whole of Japan.[1]

According to the Japanese dictionary Shogakukan Kokugo Daijiten, "Bushidō is defined as a unique philosophy (ronri) that spread through the warrior class from the Muromachi (chusei) period." In Bushidō: The Soul of Japan (1899), author Nitobe Inazō wrote: "...Bushidō, then, is the code of moral principles which the samurai were required or instructed to observe... More frequently it is a code unuttered and unwritten... It was an organic growth of decades and centuries of military career."

Indie Zapadha's Songs of the Lonely Samurai is a mixed genre of various artists of Jazz, World, Electronica & Dance, Alternative & Punk, Rock, Old Country, R & B. Featured Fellow Travelers ( artists / musicians ) include: Etta James, Gillian Welch, Mandalay, Ben Harper, Baden Powell, Dusty Springfield, Mazzy Star, Paco Fernandez & Levitation Feat.
<img src="http://indiezapadha.podOmatic.com/mymedia/thumb/1178347/0x0_1552652.png" alt="itunes pic" /><br />Indie Zapadha's Freedom for Tibet / The Struggle for Freedom Sessions is a devotional gift of creative energy of a band of artists putting out a soulful intense energy out to the universe.

Indie Zapadha uses music to help the listener to slip into meditation!

Music is food for the soul and a wonderful tool of creativity to help guide the listener on an inner journey to places only him or her can go. Journey to your deepest core through music as a form of meditation. Indie Zapadha uses sounds to create soothing imagery to help whirl your soul on an inward journey. A little dose at a time until you have the knack! Let go and slip inside to the sound of one hand clapping... Live Love Laugh!

The Struggle for Freedom Session are dedicated to the lovely people of Tibet and to their culture and philosophy! Message from Tibet Government!

"We would like to take this opportunity to Thank everyone in the UK and other parts of the world for all their show of concern and support for the just cause of Tibet and the Tibetan people, who despite all the risks to their lives under the Chinese rule have shown to the world in the past few weeks how much they regard His Holiness the Dalai Lama and cherish freedoms that people in the free world take for granted.

We appreciate the support we have received also from many Chinese people and have seen that through better awareness and information more and more Chinese are showing great respect to His Holiness and also admire his non-violent Middle Way Approach to resolve the Tibet issue that takes into consideration the long-term stability and interest of both the Tibetan and Chinese peoples.

We hope that just like these enlightened Chinese, the current Chinese leadership will also have the courage and wisdom to respond positively to His Holiness the Dalai Lama's peaceful initiatives, which will only help to improve China's own international image and standing in the world.

The Tibetan people, like the rest of the world and the Chinese people also want happiness and do not want suffering.

We hope the international community, lead by the UN, and all the major countries will give due importance to human lives instead of to temporary economic gains when dealing with China. If the current trend of many countries bowing down to China's pressure continues then we fear for the future of humanity as a whole. What is happening in Tibet is not "an internal affair of China"; it is a part of the global problem.

Even the former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in her autobiography has said, "China claim to Tibet is dubious on historical grounds", and she has expressed fear for the survival of the Tibetan people and their culture as a result of the massive influx of Chinese settlers in Tibet.

Time is running out for Tibet and the Tibetan people. In view of the present crisis in Tibet, we urgently appeal to the UN and the International community to:

Immediately dispatch independent fact finding delegations to Tibet to let the world know the truth;
Immediately persuade China to allow free press to visit and cover the whole of Tibet;

Immediately urge China to end the brutal killings in the whole of Tibet;
Immediately urge China to release all the Tibetans arrested and imprisoned;
Immediately urge China to allow international medical teams, such as Red Cross and Medicines Sans Frontiers to take care of injured Tibetans, who are too scared to visit hospitals for fear of being arrested;
Immediately urge China to allow free movement of people and provide access to daily needs, such as food and water.
For more information please visit the Tibetan Solidarity Committee website www.stoptibetcrisis.net

We pray for peace in Tibet and the world.

In haste,

The Office of Tibet, London"

Even the former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in her autobiography has said, "China claim to Tibet is dubious on historical grounds", and she has expressed fear for the survival of the Tibetan people and their culture as a result of the massive influx of Chinese settlers in Tibet.

Time is running out for Tibet and the Tibetan people. In view of the present crisis in Tibet, we urgently appeal to the UN and the International community to:

Immediately dispatch independent fact finding delegations to Tibet to let the world know the truth;
Immediately persuade China to allow free press to visit and cover the whole of Tibet;

Immediately urge China to end the brutal killings in the whole of Tibet;
Immediately urge China to release all the Tibetans arrested and imprisoned;
Immediately urge China to allow international medical teams, such as Red Cross and Medicines Sans Frontiers to take care of injured Tibetans, who are too scared to visit hospitals for fear of being arrested;
Immediately urge China to allow free movement of people and provide access to daily needs, such as food and water.
For more information please visit the Tibetan Solidarity Committee website www.stoptibetcrisis.net

We pray for peace in Tibet and the world.

In haste,

The Office of Tibet, London"

Indie Zapadha's the underground new orleans sessions

<img src="http://indiezapadha.podOmatic.com/mymedia/thumb/1178347/0x0_1570595.png" alt="itunes pic" /><br />Indie Zapadha's New Orleans Under ground Sessions embark on an eclectic musical journey that induces meditation on an inward journey. The deep grooves, accompany nostalgic beats of some rare musical tracks and mixed genres, covers an early period from 1958 thru 2000, folk, rock, old country, electronica, blues, jazz, indie, r&b, alternative.

Music and meditation go hand in hand. They're interconnected like the sun and moon, whether it is night or day. Awareness is needed for optimum growth, a conscious effort to become more loving, to become more creative, to strive to be more positive and as pure as our spirit, mind, body and soul can be. Change starts within ourselves, moving outward like a ripple on a placid lake of consciousness. Music is food for the soul! And good medicine for the mind, body and soul...

The Underground Sessions of the New Orleans mix is dedicated to the people of New Orleans and to all of those who are helping in the re- building of the devastated areas from the hurricane.
<img src="http://indiezapadha.podOmatic.com/mymedia/thumb/1178347/0x0_1570636.png" alt="itunes pic" /><br />Indie Zapadha's Chiapas Sessions journeys on the path of blues... There is very little written about the absolute origins of the music called the blues. Some say the heritage comes from the mother land of Africa, brought over on the slave ships. Certainly the blues has many shades of its original beginnings from its african roots, through the spiritual journey comes the birth of the blues emotions. An evolution has progressed over time from the early years of the 1900's.

Indie Zapadha's Chiapas Sessions are from an era of the deep blues genre. Indie calls this kundalini blues! The deep sound of the blues moves the soul. The kudalini blues moves the energy inward to a meditative state that which invites calm breathing, centering into relaxation as your soul drifts deeper into silent meditation toward your inner core.

Simply adjust your volume, take a deep breath in and let it out slowly and sit back and let go into the ancient "Ruins of Palenque" The Chiapas Sessions will sooth your soul and relax your mind! And moves your kundalini energy as it whirls upward through the chakras. I hope that you enjoy the chiapas blues sessions as much as I do... It's a wonderful way to quiet the mind! And slip into the the blues and drift away!

Indie Zapadha's Enchanted Circle Road Trip Mix v.3

<img src="http://indiezapadha.podOmatic.com/mymedia/thumb/1178347/0x0_1570650.png" alt="itunes pic" /><br />Indie Zapadha's Enchanted Circle Road Trip Mix v.3 embellishes the sounds of many great artists from a forgotten time, yet the music still soothes the soul and takes you on an endless journey through the Enchanted Circle Road Trip through Northern New Mexico's Sangre De Cristo Mountain Range. Sit back and enjoy this late night mix with Indie Zapadha's last volume from the infamous Lost Southwest Sessions! There are a lot of classic tunes in this set a rare mix! The Enchanted Circle Road Mix is dedicated to the Hopi Peoples, The name Hopi is a shortened form of what these Native American people call themselves, Hopituh Shi-nu-mu, "The Peaceful People" or "Peaceful Little Ones" [6].

The Catholic Encyclopedia lists the name Hopi as having been derived from "Hopita", meaning those who are "peaceful ones". Hopi is a concept deeply rooted in the culture's religion, spirituality, and its view of morality and ethics.

The Hopi religion is anti-war, to be Hopi is to strive toward this concept, which involves a state of total reverence and respect for all things, to be at peace with these things, and to live in accordance with the instructions of Maasaw, the Creator or Caretaker of Earth. The Hopi observe their traditional ceremonies for the benefit of the entire world.

Traditionally, Hopi are organized into matrilineal clans. When a man marries, the children from the relationship are members of his wife's clan. These clan organizations extend across all villages. Children are named, however, by the women of the father's clan.

On the twentieth day of a baby's life, the women of the paternal clan gather, each woman bringing a name and a gift for the child. In some cases where many relatives would attend, a child could be given over forty names, for example.

The child's parents generally decide the name to be used from these names. Current practice is to either use a non-Hopi or English name or the parent's chosen Hopi name. A person may also change their name upon initiation into one of the religious societies such as the Kachina society.

The Hopi still practice a complete cycle of traditional ceremonies although not all villages retain or ever had the complete ceremonial cycle. These ceremonies take place according to the lunar calendar and are observed in each of the Hopi villages.

Nonetheless, like other Indian groups, the Hopi have not escaped impact by the dominant American culture. The Hopi have been affected by missionary work carried out by several Christian denominations and also by consumerism and alcoholism.

However, the effect of missionary work has had relatively little impact on traditional Hopi cultural and religious practices.
Traditionally the Hopi are highly skilled micro or subsistence farmers.

The Hopi also interact in the cash economy; a significant number of Hopi have regular paying jobs; others earn a living from producing high quality art, traditional crafts—notably the carving and sale of Kachina dolls, highly crafted earthenware ceramic pottery, and other activities such as the design and production of jewelry, notably sterling silver silversmithing.

Featured Artists gathered for this Lost Southwest Session of the Enchanted Circle: The Grateful Dead, Harry Nilsson, J.J. Cale, Leo Kottke, Gordon Lightfoot, America, Harry Chapin, War, Joe Cocker, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Byrds, Don McLean, Dann Fogelberg, Tom Waits, Peter Yelda, Neil Young, The Allman Brothers, Steely Dan, Jethro Tull, Jackson Browne, Hot Tuna, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Heart...

Indie Zapadha's Goa Sessions: The Diamond Sutra Mix

<img src="http://indiezapadha.podOmatic.com/mymedia/thumb/1178347/0x0_1486631.jpg" alt="itunes pic" /><br />Indie Zapadha's Goa Sessions are deicated to the Diamond Sutra. A copy of the Diamond Sutra, found among the Dunhuang manuscripts in the early 20th century, is the oldest known printed book, with a date of 868.

The Diamond Sutra, like many sutras, begins with the famous phrase "Thus have I heard" (एवं मया श्रुतम्, evaṃ mayā śrutam, 如是我聞). In the sutra the Buddha has finished his daily walk with the monks to gather offerings of food and sits down to rest.

One of the more senior monks, Subhuti, comes forth and asks the Buddha a question. What follows is an often repetitive dialogue regarding the nature of perception. The Buddha often uses paradoxical phrases like "What is called the highest teaching is not the highest teaching".

The Buddha is trying to help Subhuti unlearn his preconceived, limited notions of the nature of reality, enlightenment, and compassion. At one notable point the Buddha teaches Subhuti that what makes a Bodhisattva so great is that the Bodhisattva does not take pride in his work to save others, nor is his compassion calculated or contrived. The Bodhisattva practices sincere compassion that comes from deep within, without any sense of ego or gain.

In another section, Subhuti expresses concern that the Diamond Sutra will be forgotten 500 years after it is taught (or, alternatively, during the last 500 years of this era). The Buddha assures Subhuti that well after he is gone there will be some who can grasp the meaning of the Diamond Sutra and put it into practice.

The Diamond Sutra Mix features selected artists from around the world that have created some great classic beats and rythms! including Transglobal Underground, Lisa Gerrard & Pieter Bourke, Euphoria, Loop Guru, Fortunato & Montresor, Deep Forest. Indie Zapadha's Goa Sessions are classic and arranged to whirl you inward to your deepest core.
